Remember the hit song Jai Ho?

leave a comment »

Do you still remember the hit song Jai Ho from the movie Slumdog Millionaire? The song has a very catchy tune, and the lyrics is very poetic. (I just knew the english translation yesterday). The movie Slumdog Millionaire also is something worth watching! 🙂

Slumdog Millionaire is a 2008 British film directed by Danny Boyle, written by Simon Beaufoy, and co-directed in India by Loveleen Tandan.[2] It is an adaptation of the novel Q & A (2005) by Indian author and diplomat Vikas Swarup. Set and filmed in India, the film tells the story of a young man from the slums of Mumbai who appears on the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (Kaun Banega Crorepati in the Hindi version) and exceeds people’s expectations, thereby arousing the suspicions of the game show host and of law enforcement officials.

from Wikipedia.

And here’s the song..

Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho

Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee

Aaja Aaja Jind Shamiyane Ke Tale

Come come below the decorated tent of life

Aaja Jariwale Nile Aasman Ke Tale

Come below blue sky decorated with ‘jari’ threads

Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho

Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee

Jai Ho.., Jai Ho.., Jai Ho.., Jai Ho..

Victory to thee.., Victory to thee.., Victory to thee.., Victory to thee..

Ratti Ratti Sachi Maine Jaan Gavayi Hai

Slowly Slowly Really I lost my life

Nach Nach Koylo Pe Raat Bitayi Hai

Spent my nights dancing on coal

Akhiyon Ki Neend Maine Phoonko Se Uda Di

I blew the sleep in my eyes with air from my mouth

Neele Tare Se Maine Ungli Jalayi Hai

I burned my finger with blue star

Chakh Le, Ha Chakh Le, Ye Raat Shahad Hai.. Chakh Le

Taste it, yes taste it, this night is honey, taste it

Rakh Le, Ha Dil Hai, Dil Aakhri Had Hai.. Rakh Le

Keep it, yes this is heart, heart is last limit.. Keep it

Kala Kala Kajal Tera Koi Kala Jadoo Hai Na

(your) Black Black eyeliner – is it your black magic?

Kala Kala Kajal Tera Koi Kala Jadoo Hai Na

(your) Black Black eyeliner – is it your black magic?

Aaja Aaja Jind Shamiyane Ke Tale

Come come below the decorated tent of life

Aaja Jariwale Nile Aasman Ke Tale, Jai Ho, Jai Ho

Come below blue sky decorated with ‘jari’ threads

Jai Ho.., Jai Ho.., Jai Ho.., Jai Ho..

Victory to thee.., Victory to thee.., Victory to thee.., Victory to thee..

Kab Se, Ha Kab Se Tu Lab Pe Ruki Hai.. Kab De

Since when, yes since when, you have stopped at my lips.. since when

Kab De, Ha Kab De Ab Aankh Jhuki Hai.. Kab De

Since when, yes since when, (your) eyes are closed.. since when

Aisi Aisi Roshan Aankhe Roshan Dono Bhi Hai Hai Kya

Like this, Like this, lightening eyes, making both lightened, yes, yes, what?

Aaja Aaja Jind Shamiyane Ke Tale

Come come below the decorated tent of life

Aaja Jariwale Nile Aasman Ke Tale, Jai Ho, Jai Ho

Come below blue sky decorated with ‘jari’ threads

Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho

Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee

Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho, Jai Ho

Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee

Avatar IMAX, James Cameron’s new movie

leave a comment »

Last night, my girlfriend and I and one friend went to see AVATAR. No wonder there was so much hype going around the internet about the movie. The movie was an “experience”. We watched it on an IMAX theater, so we had to wear those 3D glasses. Unfortunately the schedule was so packed that we were seated 2 rows closest to the screen.

The computer graphics was so amazingly done that I cannot even remember which one was skin and which ones were pixels! It helps that it came as a fullfledged ‘imaginary’ movie. This gives the creators a more wider canvass to play around with. Look at the shape of the “horses”(i forgot what they were called). They were not pretty. But they looked hmmm.. amazing? The last movie I saw, 2012 had those boundaries – to look realistic. As it was not a fantasy movie, more of a real world scenario.

The context of Avatar was typical, nature vs advancement, life of unknown being vs man’s greed. But it was indeed heartwarming to say the least. The locals were deeply rooted to their beleifs of deities, legends, spirits. Michelle Rodriguez’ lines however were full of one-liner-cliche’s. She was once again a tough chick – marine helicopter pilot this time.

I must say I enjoyed watching the movie. The only movie I can remember that I wanted to watch again as soon as it ended. Maybe not on IMAX this time… 🙂

WAtch Avatar! James Cameron has one again let us into his playground.

Controllerism, Digital DJ, Christmas

leave a comment »

This term might have been around for some time now, but it is fairly new to me. I learned about it from my friend Kris who is into Digital DJing. A month ago I bought an M-Audio X Session Pro to try it out. I have been using Traktor with my laptop but I do not have a proper controller until I started with that X Session Pro. It is a good beginner’s controller. It has assignable faders, knobs, buttons. These things come premapped if you use Torq, the software M-Audio is marketing for Digital DJs. However, I use Traktor, and luckily the X Session Pro is a no brainer when setting up as my midi controller. You just have to try it out to see if it works as you wanted it. If not, then you can always delete the assigned control and re-learn a new one. I never thought that this was the essence of MIDI controllers. I always thought that MIDI controllers have their own “brains” and “ears”errr soundcards. Apparently I Was wrong. They are meant to send MIDI signals through a MIDI I/O, not only that, there are also USB Midi controllers where the X Session Pro belongs.

Now, a month after, I think I have outgrown my xsession pro, and I need a more advanced midi controller. Two options in mind are the VCI 100 and the VCI 300. VCI 100 is more affordable compared to the 300. But the 300 has bigger jog wheels which look and feel(as i have tried it a couple of times) so much “nicer” when scratching. VCI 100’s are now very hard to find. Well there was a shortage of supply for some time but I think there are stocks available… somewhere.

Up until now I still am undecided. I really want to buy one from djtechtools. But they are only selling VCI 100 SE. Also the VCI 300 is not 100% compatible with Traktor. It is highly usable with its own “partner” software ITCH though.

I hope Native Instruments update the Traktor programs so that it will runwith VCI300 without additional 3rd party software.

I hope they come cheaper as well. Christmas is almost here, and I am still undecided which one to buy! hehehe

Today will be the shortest day of the year! (Winter Solstice)

When I hear the term Winter Solstice and Summer Solstice what comes to my mind are some old Celtic traditions, pagans praying to the sun and the stonehenge. But scientifically these are just the these are known as the shortest day, and the longest day, respectively. The winter solstice is known as the shortest day because the earth tilts in some degrees where in most parts of the earth, day will be shortened..

Winter is here! Read more about it from here

Christmas is almost here!

Oh my, just 4 days until it is Christmas! My friends and I are planning to have a Christmas Party on the 25th. As the Invite says,it starts at 3PM on the 25th and ends ’till the cops come’ hehe It will surely be fun. I think the 26th is also big in some parts of Europe. They call it the Boxing Day. I have just learned about it last year when my officemates here from the UK talked about it. Something to do with eating a pie and sacrifices.. I cannot really remember now.

After Christmas comes the New Year! 🙂 There are lots of things that is going to happen on the first of January. One of it could be a launching of my own domain! haha. Been wanting so bad to have my own “.com”, but I cannot seem to make a design for myself. But it will probably be running wordpress. I will keep this blog on that “site” when it comes.

I think that is it for now. There were lots of news going on all over the internet, the web design community, tech, gadgets to buy for 2009. Oh but I just did not have enough time to sit down and do a blog.

I am trying to learn Digital DJing using Traktor, and I just bought an X-Session Pro from M Audio. IT is a good beginner’s midi mixer. 🙂 I am quite happy with it, and scouring the web for what to buy next.

Hope you all had a nice holiday! 🙂 Happy new year if i am not around to write by the 31st! :))

PS the thing I will be watching out will be the Photos for 2009 from the different news sites.
