Having 2AM’ers again…

leave a comment »

It’s 2:15 A.M. here now and I don’t feel like sleeping yet. Maybe I am tired and im on my bed. But I just feel like there is a lot more things to read about, and a lot more to learn. Blame it on twitter. I do not tweet a lot. Of what I do and of what I do not want to do. But I read the tweets from my “friends” there. This whole tweeting thing opened a “gateway” of ideas for me. Maybe I was following the exact people I should be following, web designers, a zen lady, and Trent Reznor. Yeah Trent Reznor, from Nine Inch Nails. Or Trent THE Nine Inch Nail. Lol. He is such an inspiration, that maybe everytime I try to open Logic, or Reason on my laptop I thought I would be him. I have read his interview with Native Instruments, I wanted to buy them gadgets. The Web designers, they post a lot of links and I want to read all of them, though I cannot. Here’s to another 2AM’er for me.

To give you an idea of how random my topic are, I am opening Gmail, a website for a local paper, CNN Technology, Twitter, Facebook.. and wiki on Stabbing Westward. 🙂

But yeah well.. I think Google knows it already. They have profiled me. Haha. That will be in another discussion.

‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’

LAST NIGHT me and my girlfriend watched “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”. We have been meaning to watch that movie for like a month now, but I always pass it off for another movie. I wanted to watch it on a weekend, on a “movie-day”. But last night, I opted to take a time out from my freelance work. We cooked some pasta, and watched the movie. I did not realize that the movie was more “fun” than it looks. Or it looked when I skimmed over it, looking for the Scarlett-Penelope scene. I love the narration. It made it as it should be, like a fairytale. And I cannot help but notice the Spanish guitars on the background. I should have had more respect to those nylon strings. My first guitar was a small 6 string nylon guitar, but I swapped the strings with steel ones to make it.”Rock and Roll-Y”. Any back to the movie. This is not a complete movie review, but I am just going to share my opinion on some parts of the film. One, is the color. OK so we all know that color correction of films is as important to giving the feel as in the sound. But being that it is in Barcelona, on a fairytale-ish, rich laid back barrio, made it all pleasant to my eyes. The scenery was great, the details was even more. The houses, the little pots, the old well, the little patch of lawn which was not full green, made it all so summer-romantic.

The first “aha” of the movie must be Juan Antonio’s proposal to the two ladies for a weekend in ‘Obvieda’. For some lunch, wine, and sex. With both. He conveyed his words so clearly to both Vicky Cristina. And they went. Juan Antonio was obviously a romantic, an artist in tune with his feelings, and oblivious to rules.. of this wretched earth. Vicky was the kind of city girl who keeps everything in order. Cristina was a lost soul. Evident to the later parts of the film, she has no art in her, but tried to. Well she got better into her new hobby, photography. She hang out with Juan Antonio’s friends which were poets, artists, musicians. Oh. Did I mention Maria Elena? Maria Elena was “Juan Antonio’s past” but she came back. In a funny twist of “free-minds”Maria Elena, Cristina and Juan Antonio became lovers…The movie had a good ending. It was neither the cliche’ it could have died into, or a ‘what happened’ ending that was required to give way to a sequel. Just like most stories, it had to end. And it ended like a summer fling. Short and sweet, but just became merely a story from the past.

Best Practices for Speeding Up Your Web Site – From Yahoo Dev

with one comment

I came across this nice article from yahoo. I was looking at my twitter (you can follow me at And one person I was following posted a “Do’s and Dont’s” of modern web design. I followed it and read it. And from there I got to this page from yahoo.

It is a good read. 🙂 Very helpful for me. I have never felt so “lacking” on the web design field as when I started tweeting. I know I was  not topnotch in design. But I should have done something about it. hehe. I feel inspired though instead of feeling down. Looking at those gazilliones of website portfolios out there.

Anyway, here are some of the tips you might want to read 🙂

Hope For My Macbook Pro

leave a comment »

Still hoping things will get better with my “brain dead” macbook pro. It was a mid 2007 model. 15inch Sta. Rosa. I have read some articles from Apple that they are going to replace it for FREE, as they are giving 2 years warranty for such problems.

I just hope it gets back to me soon. 😦

Manny “The Pacman” Pacquiao

leave a comment »

Due to schedule constraints I was not able to watch Pacquiao’s fight with the briton Ricky Hatton. I saw some clips of their weigh in yesterday in Youtube, and I thought it is going to be a 6-8 round. The Pacman proved me wrong. He KO’d Hatton on the 2nd round. As per the news buzz going around while I was still on my to the office and at the office.

I was able to get a copy of the 2 round fight from Minninova, via torrent. IT was not a large file, due to the fact that it lasted… well 2 rounds. Poor Hatton. He got the best of The Pacman from the late half of the first round in my opinion. Pacquiao did not start off well. As far as I am concerned. I think he was playing smart and conservative. Maybe sizing up the opponent. Giving jabs, measuring him I think. 🙂

I reviewed the fight a few minutes back. And I have to say WOW. There are still thousands of punches left on The Pacman’s gloves. I will bet on him on his next 3-5 fights. He will go unbeaten. I predict 🙂 But in any game.. Anything can happen

Congratulations Manny The Pacman Pacquiao. You made us proud. You bring pride to the Filipino people.
